Establishment:
The Deanship of Student Affairs was established under the University of Gezira Act of 1975 with the aim of developing and refining students’ personalities while providing them with care, support, and attention. This is achieved through the comprehensive supervision of student activities. The Deanship takes on a significant role in managing students’ lives within the university community and their interactions with the society beyond. It plans and organizes various programs and activities designed to shape, develop, and enhance students’ personalities, allowing them to explore and fulfill their interests, desires, and needs across different fields. Additionally, it promotes ethical conduct through role models and guidance while ensuring the enforcement of rules and regulations.
Through these efforts, the Deanship aims to instill self-confidence and reassurance in students, helping them balance their academic, educational, and social requirements. This preparation enables them to become responsible individuals who contribute positively to their communities, channeling their potential for the benefit of their nation.
The mission of the Deanship of Student Affairs is to strengthen its role in fulfilling the university’s overall mission and objectives, upholding educational values within the student community, and affirming students’ roles as enlightened leaders of change and development. It also seeks to promote a culture of virtue, foster civilized interactions, and encourage respect for others’ opinions.
Vision
Student Affairs Deanship occupies advanced position in the university administration. It is the body that is concerned with taking care of the students and planning to build and shape them so that they can be susceptible to integration into university life according to psychological, behavioral, educational and orientation- based system. That comes in line with the formulation and implementation of activity programs with their cultural, creative, spiritual, physical sports definition. This is what can be complementary to the academic programs which represent the main function of the University institution.
Objectives :
- Completing the development and refinement of students’ personalities while providing them with care, support, and attention.
- Serving the community through programs implemented by the Deanship both inside and outside the university.
- Enhancing experiences through student exchange programs and providing opportunities for students to participate in academic conferences and forums.
- Strengthening social relationships between students, faculty members, and the university community.
- Training students in leadership, initiative, and creativity, and enabling them to transfer these skills to one another.
- Showcasing students’ potential in various human fields (physical, intellectual, etc.) and providing opportunities for their growth and advancement.
- Expanding guidance and counseling services and enriching the culture of academic advising.
