Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research Center
The center was established on March 17, 2013, with the following key objectives:
- Training postgraduate students and conducting research in the center’s area of specialization.
- Coordinating research, establishing a library and herbarium, improving cultivation, harvesting, and collection methods for medicinal and aromatic plants, and creating a database of findings.
- Developing methods for formulating and preparing pharmaceutical natural products derived from specialized plants.
- Contributing to the discovery of new drugs.
- Scientifically proving the efficacy, safety, and quality of herbal products and comparing them to quality standards.
- Establishing academic relations and strengthening ties with research centers and relevant institutions inside and outside Sudan.
- Raising public awareness about the benefits and risks of using medicinal and aromatic plants.
- Contributing to the training of professionals in fields related to the center’s services.
